OUR MISSION

The Mississippi Shipbuilding and Maritime Center in Pascagoula, MS
will collectively preserve the history and engage
the past, present and future of Mississippi’s Maritime and Shipbuilding Heritage.

OUR VISION

To provide an immersive, multi-sensory venue in which to tell the story of our Mississippi maritime heritage, ship and boat building, maritime commerce,
local underwater archeology, and a maritime archive and research center.

VALUES

Pascagoula’s maritime activity center VALUES:

RELEVANCE

We provide meaningful and accessible experiences to all our communities and constituencies.

AUTHENTICITY

We seek to represent genuinely the Mississippian people and cultures whose stories we preserve and tell.

STEWARDSHIP

We value the priceless maritime assets entrusted to us and accept their preservation and enhancement as our paramount responsibility—our collections, our campus and facilities, our financial resources. And we support the volunteers and staff who perform our Mission and make our Pascagoula maritime center, the rich enterprise it is.
